Itinerary & Experiences

We start out from Marmaris on 8 June, having transfered from Dalaman Aiport, provisioned our yacht and checked in.
As we head east one of our first stops is the stunning Ekinick Bay with its long beach, excellent local restaurant, and small harbour. From here you can to take a riverboat trip up the Dalyan River to see the spectacular ancient rock tombs of Kaunos. The restaurant here is excellent with its magnificent meze, seafood and local blue crab.
Sailing further along the coastline we reach Cold Water Bay with its underwater springs. After a refreshing swim, dine in the wonderful alfresco restaurant overlooking the bay. Next morning hike to the truly haunting deserted Greek village that inspired the novel Birds Without Wings.
The next few days we continue east, enjoying the holiday towns on the edge of the mountains and the stunning bays of the eastern Mediterranean. Near Kalkan we have a long beach all to ourselves and visit the extensive ruins of the ancient Roman city of Patara. We will also swim among the sunken ruins of Kekova, lunch in Butterfly Bay and enjoy the huge agricultural market at the unspoilt town of Finike. An optional bus trip from Finike to Antalya provides an opportunity for a guided tour of the beautiful ancient town. (More below…)

Istanbul is one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Having taken over a dozen groups there we have developed a ‘highlights’ tour that offers the experience of a lifetime.

Arrive and enjoy a welcome drink with spectacular views of the city. The next day features a Bosphorous Cruise and Street Food Tour. Day three covers the historical sites with a free afternoon at the Grand Bazaar. On day 4 we head off early for a day trip to Gallipoli. On the Saturday morning we transfer to Istanbul airport and fly to Dalaman.

Cost: $1,890 (per person, twin share)
Single Supp. $950

Includes: 4-star accommodation (Arcadia Blue), breakfast, entrances, food tour, Gallipoli day tour, airport transfers & guide.

Our second week covers the same water, but offers different ports and experiences. At Myra we will not only visit the ancient Roman grain port of Adrianake, but head into nearby Myra which is the town belonging to St Nicholas (a.k.a. Santa Claus). As well as some great kebabs there are some very impressive ruins to see. Further west is the party town of Kas with great bars and restaurants. Gemiler Island is a fascinating stop as we follow the ancient Pilgrim’s Way to the burial place of St Nicholas. In Fethiye we eat at a unique seafood restaurant, before heading to the boaties’ paradise of Gocek Marina. In Fethiye Bay (see the cover picture) you will hike up to 2,500 year old tombs and snorkel among ancient ruins in Cleopatra Bay before we sail to Marmaris for our final night.
Throughout we will experience a wonderful variety of berths, from quiet coves with a simple family restaurant, modern marinas, a busy dock and a quayside next to our restaurant.
