Cock of the Bay and Melbourne to Hobart Start

Be part of the crew as we compete against over 100 other yachts for the title of Cock of the Bay!

Cock of the Bay is a hugely popular race on Port Phillip Bay is held each year on Boxing Day. The traditional course of approx 21nm starts near Station Pier in Port Melbourne and is designed to sail past major bayside locations for sailors and spectators alike to view. You may even be on the nightly news!

You will be given a role on the yacht that suits your experience and skills, and play a significant part in the crew – you won’t just be ballast. Expect plenty of action at the start, as we tussle with over 100 yachts for the bets position on the line. Depending on the wind, the race takes 3-5 hours. After the race you can take the helm and help us sail to Blairgowrie.

Stay on board overnight enjoying a drink and the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron facilities, then sail out to join the throng and watch the start of the legendary Melbourne to Hobart Westcoaster yacht race with lunch included.

Includes post-race drinks, lunch on 27th with wine and beer. Twin share accommodation in one of the cabins.

Note that we depart from Williamstown at 9:00am on Dec 26th and return to Blairgowrie at 2:30pm on Dec 27th. You can stay around and join our next adventure – the Petersville Regatta or head home.
