24 July-2 Aug
Arriving in Yeppoon (Rockhampton Airport) on 24 July we provision, plan and prepare for our coastal adventure along this isolated and stunning coastline. Next morning we sail along the coast to the idyllic Pearl Bay. The following leg is to Hunter Island at the beginning of the island chain that goes all the way to the Whitsundays. An early start and full day’s sailing brings us to Mackay, the southern gateway to the Whitsundays. Fishing along the way has yielded some great catches in the past. In Mackay we pick up extra crew and enjoy dinner ashore before heading out next day for Goldsmith Island which offers beaches and fringe reefs for snorkelling. A short hop takes us to Thomas Island bursting with lush vegetation and fringed by spectacular beaches. We then head into the busier section of the Whitsundays, passing the amazing Pentecost Island and visiting iconic Whitehaven Beach. We then follow Whitsunday and Hook islands to Butterfly Bay. Our last sail day takes in Stonehaven Bay for lunch and finishes at Hamilton Island where we eat our last meal together ashore. Fly out on 2 Aug or rent a place ashore and soak in the sun for a few more days!
