Step into the rhythm of life at sea with our immersive 4-day liveaboard course. It’s an intensive yet enjoyable way to fast-track your sailing skills while experiencing the real world of yacht cruising.

You’ll sail to and overnight at various destinations around Port Phillip—including Wyndham Harbour, Queenscliff, and Docklands—while learning hands-on every step of the way.

Both International Crew and Bareboat Skipper students join the same course, with tailored roles and learning outcomes. It’s perfect for couples or families with mixed experience levels.

Competent Crew – 4-Day Liveaboard Course

Become a capable and confident crew member in this immersive, hands-on 4-day sailing experience. No prior experience required.

Set off down the river, raise the sails, and cross Port Phillip as you learn the fundamentals of sailing in real conditions. This is where your sailing journey truly begins.

You’ll gain practical skills and confidence through active participation—no pressure, just plenty of guided experience.

Safety procedures and ropework
Sail trim and boat handling
Basic navigation and seamanship
How to helm under sail and power

This IYT-accredited course is internationally recognised and prepares you for cruising, racing, or continuing toward your International Bareboat Skipper certification.

Bareboat Skipper

Take the Helm with Confidence

Learn to take command of a yacht and crew in this internationally recognised IYT Bareboat Skipper course. Ideal for aspiring skippers, this course gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to skipper a bareboat in coastal waters—and qualify for your ICC, required to charter yachts in the Mediterranean.

You’ll learn how to:

Plan and execute safe passages
Navigate using charts, tides, and buoyage
Understand weather patterns and forecasts
Manage risk and support your crew
Take full responsibility as skipper

Pathways:

If you haven’t completed a crew course but have significant sailing experience (200 NM+ logged), you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Contact us to discuss.
A VHF Marine Radio Licence (SROCP) is required to complete certification—this can be obtained through us.
