Whitsunday Cruises
27 July-2 Aug
Starting in Mackay, the southern gateway to the Whitsundays you can look forward to short hops, plenty of time for snorkelling, swimming and whale watching, and reef-protected calm seas. Fly in on 27 July ahead of our departure next day. Our first leg is 28 NM to Goldsmith Island which offers beaches and fringe reefs for snorkelling. Next day a very short hop (9 NM) takes us to Thomas Island which boasts lush vegetation and spectacular beaches. We then head into the busier section of the Whitsundays, passing the amazing Pentecost Island and visiting iconic Whitehaven Beach before setting anchor at Chalkies (16 NM). Next day we follow Whitsunday and Hook islands to Butterfly Bay along waters full of whales (18 NM). Our last sail day takes in Stonehaven Bay for lunch and finishes at Hamilton Island where we eat our last meal together ashore (20 NM). Fly out on 2 Aug or rent a place ashore and soak in the sun for a few more days!
30 Aug-5 Sept
Fly into Hamilton Island on 30 Aug and prepare to explore the Whitsundays. Leaving the next morning we stop for a swim at the delightful Stonehaven Bay before heading up to Butterfly Bay for the night (20 NM). Next day we sail along the island chain to Whitehaven watching the whales before enjoying this iconic beach and overnight at Chalkies Beach (18 NM).
We then sail into the quieter southern region, past the amazing Pentecost Island and overnight at Thomas Island bursting with lush vegetation and fringed by spectacular beaches (16 NM). Another short hop (9 NM) and we are at Goldsmith Island which offers beaches and fringe reefs for snorkelling. Our final sailing day is 28NM to Mackay where we enjoy our final meal ashore and fly out next morning.
Inclusions:
Twin share or saloon accommodation or single cabin where selected, fuel and consumables, snorkelling & fishing gear, marina fees, park fees, PFD, jacket, sunscreen, breakfast, lunch & most dinners.
Exclusions:
Flights and transfers at arrival and departure ports, personal items, alcohol, dinners ashore.

Arriving in Yeppoon (Rockhampton Airport) on 24 July we provision, plan and prepare for our coastal adventure along this isolated and stunning coastline. Next morning we sail along the coast to the idyllic Pearl Bay. The following leg is to Hunter Island at the beginning of the island chain that goes all the way to the Whitsundays. An early start and full day’s sailing brings us to Mackay, the southern gateway to the Whitsundays. Fishing along the way has yielded some great catches in the past. In Mackay we pick up extra crew and enjoy dinner ashore before heading out next day for Goldsmith Island which offers beaches and fringe reefs for snorkelling. A short hop takes us to Thomas Island bursting with lush vegetation and fringed by spectacular beaches. We then head into the busier section of the Whitsundays, passing the amazing Pentecost Island and visiting iconic Whitehaven Beach. We then follow Whitsunday and Hook islands to Butterfly Bay. Our last sail day takes in Stonehaven Bay for lunch and finishes at Hamilton Island where we eat our last meal together ashore. Fly out on 2 Aug or rent a place ashore and soak in the sun for a few more days!

Another short hop and we are at Goldsmith Island which offers beaches and fringe reefs for snorkelling. We sail on to Mackay where we enjoy dinner ashore and farewell some of our crew. An early start next morning and a full day brings us to the bottom of the island chain in the Duke Group, fishing along the way. Next day takes us to the coast past the most tidal section of the east coast. Overnight at the idyllic Pearl Bay. Our final leg takes us past Shoalwater and the Keppel Group arriving in Rosslyn Bay for our lest meal ashore. Fly out next day, 9 Sept.
