Competent Crew Weekend
Held concurrently with Learn to Sail, this course is held over two days (9am to 5pm) with the option of staying on board overnight. The Competent Crew Weekend reinforces the skills learnt during the Learn to Sail Weekend and develops a whole new set of skills. The focus is on helming the boat and managing the mainsail. Competent Crew will also work forward of the mast during certain maneuvers and have some responsibility for navigation.
BYO lunch on board on day 1, and enjoy a special lunch at one of the bay’s great clubs on day 2. The finale is sharing the helm on a 10 nautical mile course around the top of the bay. Note that some ‘weekends’ are Friday & Saturday (dates below). Limited places!
Competent Crew Weekend is part two of the internationally recognised and accredited International Crew Certificate. It runs concurrently with the Learn to Sail course. Direct entry is available for those with prior learning and experience.
